The staff and faculty at Aspirations are selected based upon their education, experience, skill and understanding of Emergent Curriculum and the Reggio Emilia philosophy. We understand that the success of your child's learning is directly tied to the commitment of their teaching team. Creating a dynamic, safe and exciting learning environment is a primary objective when we bring members onto our team.
Each staff member is screened and verified through a three level clearance process to ensure they meet the highest standards of safety and security.
Aspirations School of Learning believes in providing its educators with opportunities in which to grow. Considered one of the largest Reggio inspired schools in San Diego, we offer teachers the opportunity to further their professional development by offering attendance to workshops, visits to museums like The Getty Center, the exhibit; The Hundred Languages of Children, and opportunities to become participants in the highly acclaimed NAREA (North American Reggio Emilia Alliance) Study Tours, which visit the schools of Reggio Emilia, Italy each year.
Through our annual fund raising event, The Collected Works™, funds are dedicated towards providing the opportunity for one or two of our teachers to visit Reggio Emilia. We currently have seven staff members who have participated in the Study Tours in Italy since we opened our doors in 2008.
Time in Italy is immensely valuable, for it provides our teaching staff with time to dig deeper into what practicing the Reggio Approach can mean for them, time to reflect on their own teaching style, and the opportunity to dialogue with our Italian colleagues as well as soak up a bit of Italian culture. They will discover what it means to surround themselves with the essence of being a Reggio inspired teacher. In addition, we conduct Educator Mornings, which give educators from other schools the opportunity to visit our center, gaining insight and inspiration from the work we do with young children. We are also working in collaboration with Carlsbad High School's Child Development Department, where we will be hosting high school interns. Partnering with aspiring early childhood educators allows us to contribute to the growth of the field by modeling best practices, fostering reflective teaching, and supporting the development of future educators. We believe that opening our classrooms not only strengthens the professional community, but also enriches our own program through shared learning, fresh perspectives, and meaningful collaboration. In essence, Aspirations is a teaching school and we are happy to share what we know and how we grow in order to provide others in the teaching field an exemplary model of an environment “where passion and purpose come together for children.™ |
